Arlo Pro Security Cam Lets Homeowners Talk to Intruders

Oct-13-16 Netgear has entered the realm of home security cameras with its Arlo Pro, which allows two-way communication between the homeowner and the visitor.


The Netgear Arlo Pro system features a wireless, weatherproof HD camera equipped with motion sensing and two-way audio. If the system detects unexpected movement, it will activate to ping the owner’s phone. The homeowner can then watch the video feed in real time, while the two-way audio lets them communicate with the unexpected visitor and better determine what further action they should take.

The Arlo Pro also features a 100-decibel siren that can be triggered manually or automatically, and the team plans to incorporate machine learning into the system so it can differentiate intruders from more naturally occurring motion (such as pets and tree limbs).
