Automatic Bag Valve Mask Pumping Device

Automatic Bag Valve Mask Pumping Device
May-05-19
An attachment that automatically pumps ventilator bags could free up responders to perform other tasks.

Developed by a team from Rice University, the prototype device was made to be affordable, costing less than $120 to build and made from off the shelf and inexpensive parts. The system can be fitted to most existing bag valves, and will compress the bag evenly to feed a programmed amount of air to the patient’s lungs for hours, if needed.
