Automatic eFishery Detects When Fish are Hungry

Automatic eFishery Detects When Fish are Hungry
Oct-22-15
The eFishery helps to reduce the waste generated by fish farms by automatically dispensing food in the correct amounts.

Typically, feeding the fish in a fish farm is done by humans, which often results in the fish being either over-fed of underfed. To help make the process more exact, the eFishery is equipped with sensors able to detect the behavior of hungry fish. Once the fish are deemed hungry enough to be fed, the eFishery will release a specific amount of food while also sending an update to the farmer’s smartphone. The efficient feeding system not only reduces food waste (and fish starvation), it also creates a healthier living environment and reduces the need for antibiotics.
