Developed by the company of the same name, the Bin-e cans are equipped with an array of sensors, cameras and algorithms that allow the device to recognize the type of waste being disposed of. Once identified, the trash is compressed and sent to the appropriate chamber for collection. As the waste is processed, the Bin-e also gathers data about the items, uploading the information to the cloud and alerting the maintenance crew via an app when the chamber needs to be unloaded.
