Bio-Sensor Prompts Sweat for Study

Bio-Sensor Prompts Sweat for Study
Aug-13-17
An innovative biosensor able to prompt the wearer to sweat could offer a breakthrough in remote health monitoring.

Monitoring health via sweat instead of a blood draw holds many advantages, but also requires that the wearer generate sweat—which most of do not do on a continuous basis. The new sensor overcomes this obstacle by causing the wearer to sweat via an application of the chemical carbachol, which can be applied to a small region of the body and triggered by a tiny electric current to stimulate sweat.
