BioBag Bioplastic Can Be Heat Shrunk

BioBag Bioplastic Can Be Heat Shrunk
Oct-06-19
A bioplastic wrapping from BioBag World Australia can be shrink-wrapped onto a cucumber to offer an eco-friendly, protective layer.

The wrap was created by BioBag World Australia in cooperation with IG Fresh Produce as an alternative to standard plastic. Made up of the compostable resin Mater-Bi, which is derived from plant materials, the wrap is unique in that it can be heat-shrunk onto the vegetable. The team believes the compostable bioplastic could be used to protect and preserve other fruits and vegetables—not just cucumbers—ultimately replacing plastic in other applications as well.
