Biobeat Cuffless Blood Pressure Monitor

Biobeat Cuffless Blood Pressure Monitor
Sep-03-19
The watch and patch system from Biobeat has been cleared by the FDA as the first cuffless blood pressure monitor.

The Biobeat system is made up of the company’s wristwatch and an accompanying patch that is placed anywhere on the upper torso. Working together, the system’s components will track blood oxygenation, heart rate and blood pressure via reflexive plethysmography, which emits different wavelengths of light into the tissue and then analyzes the reflected light. According to the team, the convenient and non-invasive technology can be used both in clinics and the patient’s home, making it easier to track blood pressure over time.
