Biosensor Runs on Glucose

Biosensor Runs on Glucose
Sep-29-18
An implantable biofuel sensor able to detect disease is powered by the body’s own glucose, eliminating the need for recharging.

Developed by a team from Washington State University, the sensor is equipped with a biofuel cell powered by glucose as well as highly sensitive electronics that require very little power. The human-powered sensor is not only more efficient than conventional sensors, but is also completely non-toxic and capable of affordable mass production.
