BITE ME Lets You Have Your Lamp and Eat it Too

BITE ME Lets You Have Your Lamp and Eat it Too
Dec-16-12
The BITE ME desk lamp is fully compostable, re-usable and edible.

Created by Victor Vetterleins, the lamp’s body is made of a brightly colored bio-plastic made of agar, vegetable glycerin and purified water, with food coloring and organic extract flavoring added. An adhesive LED lighting strip secures the LEDs the top of the lamp, and the electric power is delivered through a pair of sheet metal strips sandwiched between two transparent plastic sheets. Two power cords also come with the lamp—one that plugs into a computer and another that connects to a low voltage power converter.

One the lamp is no longer needed, the bio-frame can be washed, submerged in water for an hour to soften, and eaten.
