Jan-31-19 The Bloom invention from Shadecraft makes any patio umbrella smart—able to respond to voice control and close automatically based on wind direction.

The Bloom device installs on a standard patio umbrella in place of the crank system, where it will pair with the ShadeCraft SmartShade app to offer both automatic and voice control. Built-in speakers on the device allow it to play music or respond to Amazon Alexa voice controls, and the Bloom’s internal environmental sensors allow it close automatically based on wind speed and direction as well as offer real-time information on temperature, UV radiation, humidity and air quality.
