BluBrake ABS Warns Cyclists of Brake Lock Up

BluBrake ABS Warns Cyclists of Brake Lock Up
Dec-23-16
The BluBrake ABS invention could help prevent bicycle racers from tumbling over their handlebars when their brakes lock up.

Developed by Pinrello and the startup BluBrake S.r.l.,the BluBrake system consists of an array of components integrated into the frame, including wheel speed sensors, haptic actuators in the brake levers, an AI control unit, and a remote that mounts on the handlebars. At the beginning of the ride, the rider enters their expected terrain into the system, as well as whether the road or dry or wet. As they ride, the BluBrake AI unit monitors the data from the sensors to buzz a haptic warning if a brake lock-up is likely.
