The e-Celsius is designed to travel safely through the GI tract, where it will transmit temperature readings every thirty seconds with the same accuracy as the conventional rectal method. For extra patient safety, the e-Celsius can also be programmed to trigger a warning if the patient’s temperature moves beyond a specified range, particularly valuable when monitoring fragile patients.
