A team of researchers from the University of Central Florida have created a laser beam, not utilizing the common laws of refraction of light. They call their laser beam "spacetime wave packets".
Usually, if you place an object in water, it looks broken where it meets the water, this is because light doesn't travel as fast in water, as in the air. But, this new laser beam isn't affected by this rule, it has properties not other beams have. It can even speed up in denser materials
the new laser beam could be used in the military and defense sector, and could revolutionize the communication industry.
