Carbon Nanotubes Improve Flexible Electronics

Carbon Nanotubes Improve Flexible Electronics
Feb-02-19
University of Houston researchers have announced breakthroughs in flexible electronics that could lead to significant advances in robotic skins and bioelectrics.

The team reports that they have created fully integrated electronics from a rubbery semiconductor, resulting in rubbery integrated electronics, logic circuits and arrayed sensory skins. According to corresponding paper author Cunjiang Yu, the new technology relies on embedding the rubbery polydimethylsiloxane composite semiconductor with tiny amounts of metallic carbon nanotubes, overcoming limitations in carrier mobility to speed carrier transport.
