Researchers have developed a newly improved cell incubator for treating injuries and diseases in the human body.
The incubator was created by a team from Tomsk State University and Siberian State Medical University using a mesh made up of thin filaments of titanium nickelide. The intertwined filaments are an improvement over the typical incubators made from a solid array, resulting in a larger internal volume able to hold 150% more functioning cells with the same volume. After the patient’s cells have been seeded in the incubator, it is embedded within the body to help take up the functions of the damaged organ.
