Chemical-Free Air-Conditioning System

Chemical-Free Air-Conditioning System
Jan-08-18
An innovative new air-conditioning system cools the air without compressors or refrigerants.

Developed by engineers at the National University of Singapore, the new air-conditioning system was designed for hot, humid areas. Thin membrane sheets remove the moisture from the air, after which the dehumidified air is transferred to an evaporative cooler that absorbs the heat using water. The now cool, dry air is use to cool interiors, without releasing hot air into the environment, and the system can also be used to harvest up to 15 liters of drinking water each day.
