CleanCase Brings Sterile Smartphones into the OR

May-01-19 The CleanCase from SteriDev ensures digital devices brought into the OR are sterile and safe.

As handy as our handheld digital devices are, they can be difficult to keep clean—deeming them unsafe for use in sterile environments. The CleanCase device helps overcome that obstacle by simplifying the process of transferring the non-sterile smartphone into a sterile cover. The system features a transfer funnel, which guides the device into the case while securing the sterile barrier lid during the transfer. The newly enclosed smartphone retains all its functionality, while still being safe for use in the OR.

The CleanCase had recently received FDA approval for the use of the device.
