The Cleanstraww invention offers a simple and effective way to purify water for drinking.
The Cleanstaww was created by Jackson State University student Lamonte Pierce, who lives in a city with frequent boil-alerts. The straw is equipped with a three-step filtration system made of a patented FDA-approved material that separates particles from the water, including lead, microbes and viruses. The Cleanstraww can filter lead from up to 20 gallons of water, and a companion app notifies the user when the straw needs to be replaced. The Cleanstraww is also lightweight and affordable, making it an ideal option for people living in remote or impoverished areas.
