Conductive Fabric Could Lead to Safer Batteries

Conductive Fabric Could Lead to Safer Batteries
Sep-22-17
An innovative gel-soaked conductive fabric could lead to safer and more efficient batteries.

Today’s batteries rely on a conductive electrolyte fluid, and can be prone to leakage or even combustion. To offer a safer alternative, the team from Drexel University created a porous made up of carbon nanofibers and saturated with an iron-rich gel. The result is a highly durable, conductive material free of flammable solvents and with better storage capabilities.
