Cotton Candy Circuit Board Self Destructs when Cooled
Jul-02-17
An innovative circuit board that self-destructs when cooled could keep software secrets safe.

Developed by a team at Vanderbilt University, the circuitry is made up of a network of silver nanowires embedded in a unique polymer that is insoluble in warm water and soluble in cold. The polymers are arranged so that they make contact and create a path for the electricity to flow, functioning normally in cold water. However, should the water temperature cool to a certain degree, the polymers will dissolve and break the electrical pathway.
