Could a Breathalyzer Detect COVID-19?

Could a Breathalyzer Detect COVID-19?
Mar-26-20
Scientists are working on a device that could revolutionize the way we diagnose patients suspected of being infected with COVID-19.

The new device could vastly speed up the testing giving results in a matter of minutes instead of hours or days.

The device works by picking up biological information from a breath sample. If it detects biomarkers such as DNA, RNA, proteins, or lipids, it indicated that the lung may be infected with a disease.

If perfected, the technology could also be used to detect other respiratory illnesses such as lung disease, liver issues, diabetes, cancers, brain, and aging diseases.

How soon can the first suspicions from any possible viral interaction be noticed from human body and secretions? As people touch items, face and body by hand, a ring or phone might repeatedly analyze perspiration from fingers.
