Curved and Flexible Batteries from LG Chem

Oct-14-13 Today’s new generation of curved and flexible electronic devices will need an equally adaptable battery—a role the curved LG Chem battery is ready to fill.

The LG Chem battery is due to be mass-produced next month, making it immediately available to power the “bendable and unbreakable” smartphone displays from LG. There are two versions of the new battery: The Curved Battery, which was manufactured using LG’s patented Stack and Folding technology and can be installed in phones, watches or smart glasses; and the Cable Battery, which was designed to use low electricity and will not heat up as it is used. The Cable Battery is also waterproof, which makes it ideal for use in wearable gadgets such as necklaces and smartwatches.
