The Cybershoes invention lets players walk and run in virtual reality, bringing a new level of immersion to the game.
Developed by 3D.Run, the Cybershoes strap onto the feet over the players existing shoes, and are meant to be used in conjunction with a swiveling seat. As the rollers on the bottom of the shoes make contact with the floor (carpet is required), they detect the movement of the player’s feet and translate it into commands. The Cybershoes are compatible with a number of VR systems, including SteamVR, the HTC Vive, Oculus Rift or Windows Mixed Reality, and offer a more immersive experience than typical joystick controls.
