Dandelion Heats Homes with Geothermal Energy

Dandelion Heats Homes with Geothermal Energy
Jul-11-17
The Dandelion company aims to reduce power bills by heating and cooling homes with geothermal energy.

A spin-off of Alphabet, Google’s parent company, Dandelion plans to tap into geothermal energy via a series of plastic pipes called ground loops. The pipes would be buried in the yard, where water pumped through them would absorb heat from the ground that could be used to warm the house in winter. During the summer, the system would work in reverse, drawing hot air from the house and through the pipes to be dispersed into the ground.
