Delivering Drugs Through Leaky Vessels

Delivering Drugs Through Leaky Vessels
Jun-18-17
An on-demand method of creating leaky cells could offer a new way to deliver targeted drugs.

The technique, developed by a team from Rice University, involves using magnets to force iron oxide nanoparticles into gaps between the endothelial cells lining the blood vessels. The gaps can then be widened by magnets, allowing larger molecule medications, such as proteins, to be delivered through the ‘leaky vessels.’
