DrinkSavvy is a Warning System for Drinks

DrinkSavvy is a Warning System for Drinks
Dec-15-12
The DrinkSavvy technology could help to keep party-goers safer by letting them know if a date-rape drub has been slipped into their drink.

The DrinkSavvy™ startup was founded by Mike Abramson and is currently seeking funding on Indiegogo. Working with Dr. John MacDonald of Worcester Polytechnic Institute, Abramson created a material that will change color when it comes in contact with three of the most common date rate drugs—GHB, Ketamine and Rohypnol.

The material could be used to make a variety of products, including glassware, straws and stirrers, which could be offered at bars or sold to individuals as a safeguard against any devious, drug-slipping types.
