DroneCatcher Drone Hovers to Ensnare Trespassers

Jun-18-18 The newly improved DroneCatcher drone hovers at altitude to ensnare trespassing drones in its net.

Developed by DelftDynamics, the DroneCatcher quadcopter is an evolution of the company’s earlier drone, and now features a detachable power tether. The tether allows the drone to hover indefinitely at altitude while receiving power from the ground, then detach itself to use battery power and pursue intruding drones. Once the rogue drone is within range, the DroneCatcher will deploy its pneumatic net gun to trap the target, with a range of up to 66 feet. The netted drone can then be safely ferried to the ground.
