DYNACORD Self-Tightening Sutures

DYNACORD Self-Tightening Sutures
Jun-30-18
The innovative DYNACORD self-tightening suture from DePuv responds to changes in tension for better stability as the wound heals.

Developed with rotator cuff surgery in mind, the DYNACORD suture is made up of a pair of outer sheaths of braided fibers wrapped around a core made of silicone and salt. The salt core gives the suture its stability during surgery, but will dissolve within the body. The remaining porous structure in the core will fill with fluid if the suture loses tension, causing the sheath to expand outward and the suture to shorten.
