Edible QR Codes Deliver Medicine and Information
Feb-13-18
Edible QR codes could contain both information and personalized medicine, helping ensure the ideal dose for each patient.

The edible QR codes were developed by a team at Copenhagen University using standard inkjet printing technology adapted to print the medicine-containing code. According to the team, the amount of dose can be tailored to the individual’s needs, while the QR code offers an easy way to scan the product information and reduce the risk of incorrect or counterfeit medications.
