EduSense Tracks Professor Performance

EduSense Tracks Professor Performance
Nov-08-19
The EduSense system analyzes college instructor performance by tracking the body language of the students.

The EduSense system was developed by the team from Carnegie Mellon to offer college professors a way to evaluate their effectiveness without the need for a human expert to sit in on lectures. The real-time sensing system relies on a pair of cameras, one aimed at the instructor and one at the students. The OpenPose software also developed by CMU is then used to extract body position and determine factors such as student engagement and how long the instructor pauses before calling on a student.
