EnviGreen Edible Plastic bags

EnviGreen Edible Plastic bags
Dec-12-16
The innovative, edible EnviGreen plastic bags are made of plant-based material, and could help keep plastic out of the oceans.

Created by the India-based EnviGreen, the bags are made of starch and vegetable oils, and feel and perform like conventional plastic bags. However, instead of petroleum, the EnviGreen bags are make using a six-step process involving natural ingredients such as banana and flower oil. The bags will dissolve at room temperature in less than 24 hours, and can be safely ingested by animals.

The Kamataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) in India has recently approved the EnviGreen bags for commercial use.
