EQ-Radio Detects Emotions Wirelessly

EQ-Radio Detects Emotions Wirelessly
Sep-21-16
The EQ-Radio from MIT uses wireless signals to detect emotion by reading the heartbeat and breathing of the individual.

The system is an evolution of earlier work from team lead Dina Katabi, which used RF signals to track motion and identify silhouettes. The new system sends a wireless radio signal to a person that bounces off their body to gather information on their breathing and heart rate. According to the team, the system was able to correctly determine the emotions of a sample of thirty people with an 87 percent accuracy.
