Escape Belt Releases When Submerged Underwater

Escape Belt Releases When Submerged Underwater
Dec-07-12
The Escape Belt releases automatically when the seat belt is exposed to water, granting a few extra seconds of time to escape from a submerged vehicle.

Developed by the Dutch company Fijen TLMS, the Escape Belt attaches easily to the existing seat belt, sitting between the buckle tongue and groove. The device features a cartridge containing a salt pill that will dissolve when submerged in water, which triggers the buckle to release the belt, and it will not be activated by a simple spilled beverage.
