The Eversense continuous glucose monitoring system is implanted under the skin and communicates its readings to a paired smartphone.
Created by Senseonics, the tiny implantable sensor measures blood glucose by using fluorescence technology to continuously sample the blood as it flows by. A small, wearable smart transmitter fits on the outside of the arm and sends the data to a paired device running the companion app. The sensor can last up to 90 days—much longer than current implants on the market—and unusual levels will trigger a smartphone alert.
