FallSkip Predicts Fall Risk

Jan-26-18 The FallSkip app predicts the risk of falling in elders to help prevent injury.

Developed by a team at the Universitat Politècnica de València, the FallSkip app works with a custom-made waistband, where the onboard accelerometer and gyroscope monitor the wearer’s gait and balance. The collected data is sent to a paired Android-based device, allowing doctors to access the patient’s risk for a fall and help determine preventative measures.
