Fat-Burning Microneedle Patch

There are two drugs proven to convert white fat into energy-burning brown fat, but taking the drugs orally or via injections can cause side effects. As an alternative delivery system, researchers from Nanyang Technological University developed a microneedle skin patch loaded with one of the two proven fat-converting drugs. The patch is pressed against the skin, causing the needles to break off and dissolve to deliver the drugs directly to the white fat layer.
