FlexAura Shifts From Stylus to Camera

FlexAura Shifts From Stylus to Camera
Oct-13-12
The FlexAura can double as a stylus or a camera, depending upon which way you hold it.

Developed by Senwei Liu and Francois Guimbretière of Cornell University, the FlexAura consists of a pen-shaped stylus embedded with a system of infrared LEDs and photo-transistors. The transistors read the infrared light as it is reflected off the hand of the person using the stylus, creating a map of the shape of the grip. This map allows the device to determine how the stylus is being held and alter the tools accordingly.
