FlexDex Claw Mimics Surgeon's Motions

FlexDex Claw Mimics Surgeon's Motions
Feb-23-17
The FlexDex claw can transfer the motions of the surgeon’s hands to a tiny, flexible claw.

Created by the startup FlexDex Surgical, the FlexDex claw mounts to the surgeon’s arm and is equipped with a gyroscopic handle that can be moved in three dimensions to accurately mimic the surgeon’s hand motions. The tiny, agile claw is ideal for internal suturing, translating the surgeon’s movements in a natural way (current devices require the surgeon to make exaggerated hand motions).
