Flexible Graphene-Based Sensor

Flexible Graphene-Based Sensor
Sep-18-19
A flexible, wearable graphene-based sensor system can monitor vital signs accurately and comfortably.

The flexible sensors were created by researchers from the Institute of Photonic Sciences, who integrated graphene substrates with semiconducting quantum dots. The resulting material will lay flat on the skin, where it can measure a wide range of light wavelengths to provide continuous and accurate information on vitals as well as UV exposure. The data can be sent to a paired smartphone for review, which also powers the sensor device via near-field communications.
