Flying Shipping

Oct-07-20 The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) approved UPS’ request to start using drones as a means of transportation for shipping. This only covers delivery services in campus settings, like hospitals and universities. Approval for residential deliveries are still years away.

This certification will allow UPS pilots to fly drones beyond their line of sight. The FAA is writing rules for drone operations such as guidelines on flying over populated areas and sharing airspace with other flying devices.
