The wearable FlyJacket controller promotes more intuitive control by letting users pilot a drone with their body.
Developed by a tea from EPFL, the system eschews buttons and joysticks in favor of a FlyJacket equipped with an array of nineteen motion capture markers and electrodes. Volunteers wearing the jacket along with a VR headset were able to learn to control a drone both faster and with more dexterity than with joysticks.
