Fracture Putty Speeds Bone Healing

Fracture Putty Speeds Bone Healing
Feb-10-12
Researchers have developed a gel they are calling 'fracture putty,' able to speed the healing and regeneration of bones .

The team from the University of Georgia created the gel by using the adult stem cells that create a protein that promotes bone healing. The stem cells were incorporated into a gel, which the researchers are calling 'fracture putty.' The putty was inserted into bone fractures in rats, which help them heal completely in less than two weeks.
