Fuel Cell Could Extend Drone Flight Time

Jan-12-16 A new fuel cell from Intelligent Energy could allow drones to stay aloft for much longer than is possible with current battery technology.

The system would see a hydrogen fuel cell installed onboard the drone, where it would generate electricity to charge the drone’s battery. Besides extending the flight time of the drone, the fuel cell system can be recharged quickly (in minutes instead of hours), and was able to create enough power to enable an onboard camera to record continuously with no interruptions.
