To offer a more affordable alternative, the Surgical Haptic Intelligence Engine (SHIE) provides a realistic surgical experience with the help of off-the-shelf haptic feedback controllers. The SHIE is compatible with standard VR and haptic equipment, is said to provide “submillimeter accuracy” as it replicates the resistance a surgeon would feel during a procedure.
