Prime Roots is letting followers weigh in on which of its superprotein test products it should launch. The winner by far: fungi-based "bacon."
Mushroom products are not only packed with protein but are highly digestible, sustainable, allergen-free, animal free, and non-GMO.
Mushroom mycelium is tasteless so it can easily be made to mimic the taste of meat or seafood such as chicken tenders, sausages, crab cakes, and ground beef.
The product is slated to be launched on February 14, and a one-day-only release will allow customers to order it while supplies last.
