Fusion Robot Sits an Assistant on Your Back

Fusion Robot Sits an Assistant on Your Back
Aug-25-18
The Fusion collaborative telepresence robot rides on the users back to offer assistance from a remote operator.

Developed by a team from Keio University, the Fusion differs from the numerous robotic assist arms in that it is controlled by another user who is looking over the wearer’s shoulder. The Fusion robot is worn on the back, where its binocular-vision camera streams live visuals to a remote controller wearing VR equipment. The remote operator can manipulate the robot’s arms with a pair of handheld controllers, allowing the two humans to work in tandem to complete a task.
