Gecko Traxx Takes Wheelchairs Off-Road

Nov-22-19 The cleverly Gecko Traxx invention wraps around wheelchair tires to let them go off-road into sand, gravel and other terrain.

Inspired by a friend’s difficulty using a wheelchair in the sand, Gecko Traxx are lightweight and portable, attaching to the rear wheels of the chair quickly and with no modifications needed. Once in place, Gecko Traxx expands the surface area of the wheels by three times in strategic locations via a clever arrangement of raised cross-sectioning. This added friction allows the wheelchair to travel in more challenging terrain without sacrificing maneuverability or adding much weight.
