Made of recycled plastic, the graphene-based suitcase from GraphCase could help reduce carbon emissions.

Hailed as the world’s first graphene suitcase, the prototype GraphCase is claimed to be 60 percent stronger and 20 percent lighter than typical suitcases. The case was developed in cooperation with the University of Manchester using a composite graphene polymer made of 100 percent recycled plastics. Although recycled plastics tend to offer poor performance, the graphene-enhanced recycled polycarbonate material used in the GraphCase is rugged enough to withstand rough travels, with the use of one case potentially reducing 6kg CO2 emissions into the environment.
