Graphene Armor Hardens on Impact

Graphene Armor Hardens on Impact
Dec-22-17
The new graphene-based diamine material could harden like a diamond to stop bullets on impact.

Under research by a team at The City University of New York, the diamine material is made up of two layers of stacked graphene. The material is lightweight and flexible as foil, but a sudden hard impact at room temperature will cause it to become harder than a diamond.

Still in the concept stage, the idea was developed and tested by associate professor Angelo Bongiorno using computer models.
