Hankook Concept Tires Adjust for the Road

Hankook Concept Tires Adjust for the Road
Dec-04-18
The innovative Hexonic and Aeroflow concept tires from Hankook offer a glimpse into the future of automotives.

The Hexonic and Aeroflow tires were designed with self-driving cars and motorsports in mind, respectively. The Hexonic tires feature a tread broken into hexagonal modules able to move apart to create channels for water to flow through. Sensors in the tires allow them to react to the road in real-time, responding to parameters such as temperature and road surface.

The Aeroflow tires were created for motorsports drivers, and boast a tread able to separate in the center and draw air into a turbine impeller to ‘generate additional downward force’ for extra grip on the track.
